A visitor to St. Charles Parish had this to say: Hello, My name is Teresa and I am from Dover, TN. I am sending this email to tell you about our experience in Boutte. A couple of weeks ago we were vacationing in LA. We were on our way to Chauvin and broke down in Boutte. We were in our motor home. As it happens, we broke down at the Shell Outdoor Express. I can not begin to tell you just how lucky we were to be in that spot when our troubles began. Mr. Ed Burnum who works at the Outdoor Express is one of the kindest people we have ever met. He gave us his truck when we needed it to go for parts or whatever we needed. Thanks to all the people who worked there and even the customers who came in, it just made our couple of days stay there wonderful, when otherwise it could have been horrible. And then there was Michael at the USDA and his secretary. Michael made many calls for us to find a place to stay, after we discovered we would not be able to repair the motor home. He took the time to take some of us to Lafitte where he found a cabin for us to stay. Once there he also took us out to eat before he would leave us. We just could not believe the wonderful people who took the time to help us. The people of Boutte need to know what a wonderful place they live in. And we just wanted to express our gratitude to them for making what could have been a horrible experiece actually a good one. And by the way some of them have called us since we have been home just to make sure we made it. What a wonderful city you have. Thank you, Teresa
